If you’re a night owl and watch The Late Late Show with James Corden, you are familiar with his entertaining “Carpool Karaoke” videos. It turns out, executives at Gogo are big fans of the skit as well, and wanted their own version to share with their employees. Motionpost was in on the amusing project with Tom McCosky directing the “talent,” (or the Gogo executives to the rest of the audience) as well as the director of photography. Because the director couldn’t be in the car directing them, Tom had to come up with a way to communicate with the carpoolers. All directing was done over the phone while four Go-Pro cameras mounted throughout the car captured the footage. Another challenge was editing three hours of inside jokes of Gogo executives into three minutes of completed video. “The hardest thing was to screen through a funny group of executives and edit it down and keep the piece moving,” said editor Jeff Evenson. Additional video production support included Stacey Evenson as producer and Bruno Strapko on audio.

Musical edits, several camera angles and lots of dialogue and singing — so how did eight executives make it to their corporate meeting? Take a look.
